Evaluation Framework

Within the evaluation framework developed by CVORR, the classification of metrics into environmental, social and economic domains is not relevant from a modelling perspective.  Instead, CVORR seeks to establish whether value, or values, are conserved, created or destroyed by the behavior of the system under examination.  Building upon CVORR's innovative typology for classifying metrics, our approach allows the development of an integrated model covering all domains of complex value, removing the need to integrate results from different (potentially inconsistent) models such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Life Cycle Costing (LCC) and Social Life Cycle Assessment (sLCA).

The CVORR approach is powerful, and allows the recognition of the functional, or technical, value of resources.  thereby allowing the observation of technical reasons for the 'tipping points' observed which impact upon other dimensions of value.  Whilst including multiple dimensions within the scope of complex value, CVORR recognises the incommensurability of changes in value across different domains and the inherent socio-political factors that determine the criteria by which to ‘optimise’ such systems.
